My friend's son was similar--anything pureed, he hated. They ended up doing baby led weaning simply because it worked. At this point, her son eats pretty much anything/everything, and will even tolerate purees (though he really prefers to feed himself, so he's less interested in anything that's coming at him via a spoon). I think baby led weaning is great if that's what works! I'm sure he'll figure it out in his own time as he has done with everything else so far! G seems to hate them. She did eat a puff on Saturday. Trying to figure out what to do. BLW scares me a bit due to the choking issue. Thinking about trying a mesh feeder though as she wants to be little miss independent and she tries to grab my food.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02310433682241835689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8198969049157532269.post-44976017328433300922013-08-05T08:09:24.312-07:002013-08-05T08:09:24.312-07:00That sounds like a good way to organize the day! He went to TOWN on a straweberry yesterday!!!! It was precious. D also likes to eat my water glass, but I think he likes to watch the water come out of the purifier even more. He tries to grab for it every time. I think the key is to just keep trying...

We have no teeth buds out yet, but I can see the white so I'm curious how much longer until that happensJBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03918024171163030406noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8198969049157532269.post-13501262243145313252013-08-05T03:36:58.837-07:002013-08-05T03:36:58.837-07:00My wee girl is almost ten months and I gave up on ...My wee girl is almost ten months and I gave up on purees pretty quickly, she just wasn't interested and I didn't want to force the issue! These days we do fruit puree pouches (mainly because of the variety of flavours), porridge for breakfast and table / finger food for the rest of her solids. In the early days we had good success with steamed broccoli, slices of apple and sticks of bananas as well as rice-y foods.Kemmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04784884566052967174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8198969049157532269.post-59758294367332490292013-08-04T18:06:03.998-07:002013-08-04T18:06:03.998-07:00I'm thinking it's pretty common although I...I'm thinking it's pretty common although I think the reflux babies have it worse. I wonder what it does to them?! If the puree is too thick we get gagging and throw-up sometimes and solid food he doesn't understand. He gnawed on watermelon and a peach this weekend but makes a funny face like he isn't sure what to make of it. Same with avocado. All in good time right?
