I think it's really interesting to see which bloggers continue to blog post kids. I needed to blog to get me through IF as did they, but I think I needed it for more than that.
I'm a sharer. That's how I process my thoughts and my life and it's not good enough just to write it down. I need other people to hear me. I can't explain exactly why. It's probably some terrible narcissicistic attention-seeking behavior. But it keeps me sane so I sure am thankful for it.
I miss the ladies I was in the trenches with, most of whom rarely blog anymore, but it's also fun finding new connections on the other side.
Happy Monday!
I completely agree with you on this one. I miss my IF girls, have definitely found some new buddies on the "other side", but it doesn't seem like it is the same. I keep blogging because it helps me stay centered. Glad you are continuing to blog through mommy-hood!
ReplyDeleteI agree--I miss those girls too. I have really enjoyed the parenting support of those who stick around, mainly you :)
ReplyDeleteI miss people as well. But I have found some new ones to connect with.
ReplyDeleteI know. I can't seem to let go of my blog, even though it is sporadic. I have a bond and connection with those who I have shared my struggles (and theirs as well).
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way. There are days that I feel pulled away. But writing is good for my soul. Miss the others immensely.
ReplyDeleteI'm back from the trenches because I FINALLY got a BFP and want to share the news and start blogging about pregnancy. I honestly got so tired of writing the same thing over and over about our IF journey, so now I am back and yes, I miss these blogging ladies!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's terrible narcissicistic attention-seeking behavior. I think it's a matter of wanting a nod from the world: yes, you are here, yes, you are seen and heard.
ReplyDeleteI think it's normal..I too find it better when I'm able to share what I feel..And blogging helps me with that...Not a mother yet but I'm sure I will continue to blog post that, atleast I hope to..I just feel so complete when I'm able to write and post something
ReplyDeleteRandom Thoughts Naba...#MicroblogMondays: I Wish To Read It Again......
I've found that very few of the bloggers I read when I first started are still blogging. Sometimes you just go through different phases where you have more to say or less. I started blogging after I already had my first, so it was never primarily about fertility for me. In a way, I'm glad, because I didn't have the crisis of "what should I write about now that I'm a parent?" I have gone through a period of time lately where I didn't write much, but I'm finding that I miss it and have been trying to write more lately.

I still blog. Can't shut me up! :P
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way. I take little breaks but I always come back. For whatever reason I just feel compelled to keep my blog going even though 80% of the bloggers I followed have mostly or completely moved on. I miss them.
